Study Seminars Program Files 1984-1987.

This series comprises several records pertaining to travel and study seminars sponsored by the DWMIC and organized and administered by its interpretation personnel. The records were generated by the Interpretation Department of the DWMIC and are from 1984-1987. They include copies of seminar applications, registration and orientation material, evaluations, travel arrangements, promotional brochures, typewritten and handwritten business correspondence, and final observations by participants. These records pertain to seminars that were to occur in South Africa, and China and the Far East.

The American Lutheran Church (1961-1987) was formed by the merger of the American Lutheran Church (1930-1960), the Evangelical Lutheran Church and the United Evangelical Lutheran Church. Representatives from each of the constitutent churches formed the Joint Union Committee in 1950 to effect the merger. Presidents of the constituent bodies at the merger were Henry F.
